Hug the Father and Brother

Last night I had a great conversation with Eva (2 and half currently). We were sitting at the table eating a snack before bed when she was describing to me the event of eating food, "first it goes in your mouth, then it goes into your tummy, then it goes into your 'testins'." I was surprised that she knew the sequence let alone what intestines were.

Out of the blue in the conversation she asked me, "Jesus died for our sins?" I told her he did and what a wonderful blessing that is for us so we can join them in heaven. Eva asked, "Jesus lives in heaven?" I replied with a yes. She then said, " I can't wait for us (being her, my wife, and myself) to go to heaven so I can give God and Jesus a hug. I was touched deeply at the love she already has for God and Jesus. This simplicity of love opens your eyes. It seems today that we are so focused on many things that can be a distraction even though they are done with good intention, that we forget that in that day when we can join God and Jesus in heaven, the most important thing that we can remember is to unconditionally love our Father and Brother in heaven. The question I asked myself is would I have the heart to run up and hug them in excitement like Eva said she would? For some reason I think that I would have some retention to do so I don't know why. Probably mostly in fear of the judgment in the afterlife.

I know how much I love our Father and Brother and I hope to love them more each day and maybe I could one day love them like Eva.

Hearing the pure truth from the little one's mouths is so refreshing. As Adults we often are wanting to protect ourselves from criticism or being to vulnerable. Thanks for sharing and best of wishes on your blogging adventure!
