Friday's...How wonderfull

Friday's are wonderful aren't they. We have been doing a lot a planning at the house the past few day's. Tori and I are heading to Chicago on the 24th. While I will be at a conference all day, each day, Tori will get a long awaited amount of time of relaxation. She definitely deserves it. On top of planning that whole trip we are also planning out a magnificent vacation/celebration to Disney World next summer. Of what a great time it will be. The celebration of Tori and I both graduating and saying sayonara to school! Don't think I am not counting down the days (273 if you were wondering).

The dreaded school year begins again next week and then Tori and I begin our life based on a calendar and time sheet once again. How enjoyable...

Interestingly enough my thoughts today have been focused on my morning reading. I read through 2 Timothy and was blown away in the second to last chapter I believe, where Paul in his letter discusses the bad characteristics of people that would develop in the future. It gives quite an extensive list in which I could look at today and check off every one of them as existing in our culture.

Two of them really stood out to me at the moment. One of the characteristics was kids dishonoring their parents. The culture of today fully accepts teenagers, and even kids at younger ages, dishonoring their parents. The acceptance of, "oh they are just teenagers and that is what they do" is very troubling to me. Now I don't obviously have a teenager of my own but historically it has not always been this way. This is a current cultural normality. I am willing to go against the grain and fight against this one.

The other one that stood out to me was the description of those getting "tired" of the true and consistent faith. It spoke that many would not have the strength to stay to truth and they would chase "myths" and created teachers of these because they want to experience something new and exciting. This is man's depravity in the soul. We have the truth we need and we continue to try and drive our own path. Many crave something more exciting as if a relationship with God himself and Jesus Christ is not enough. Truly we are all depraved.

Friday. Oh wonderful Friday.

I agree with you on the loss of concern in our culture with respect for elders...or anyone for that matter from our young people. It is almost popular to see how disrespectful some of these teens can be.

Sad.

I think it is a cry for someone to care enough to take the time to reach out and love them.

Congrats on reaching your final year of school. Treasure what you can of it. Life gets more interesting after this...in lots of ways...(Smile)

Thanks for stopping by Hospitality Lane.
